Tim McClellan, host of DIY network’s Boomtown Builder, is an iconic designer, builder, and storyteller inspired by the rich history and dramatic landscapes of the American West.

Tim seamlessly navigates between his passion for everything from furniture to classic American trucks; from leather goods to homespace, as every design and project shares a common theme: Salvage, Repurpose, Innovate, and Inspire.

“I am fearless, and with these two hands I can build anything.”

Tim’s unique ability to create extraordinary builds from conception to completion, coupled with his charismatic and captivating storytelling landed him a spot on season 1 of Ellen Degeneres’  Ellen’s Design Challenge on HG TV.   On the show, Tim’s ingenuity, meticulous craftsmanship, and his genuine nature earned him the role of “Fan Favorite,” and he became the first, although later, contested winner.

Tim’s poignant wit, adventurous spirit, and well-honed talent has connected him with millions of fans as he weaves humour, history, artistry, and ingenuity into the design, fabrication, and construction of extraordinary, hand-built creations.

In 1991, McClellan founded and launched Western Heritage Furniture, a custom high-end furniture company.  Western Heritage’s mission:  Salvage waste material from old barns and buildings and repurpose these materials into heirloom-quality furniture.

Cowboy Customs Speed Shop opened in 2013, where Tim builds one-off trucks, integrating classic American bodies with modern American muscle, meticulous interiors, and innovative finishes.

Currently, Tim is living his vision:  Designing, fabricating and constructing modern masterpieces from yesteryear’s discarded materials, sharing the unique story of each project, and inspiring others to do the same.
